PML Avonlea - Birthday Card

Here is a card my 7 year old granddaughter, Mya, made for her Mommy for her Birthday. All I did was cut the paper for her and die cut the butterfly. She glued it all together, stamped and added Bling all by herself.
I was SO Proud of her!!!
I opened my pack of the Avonlea Picture My Life Cards and she picked out the Cup Cake. This scrapbooking kit if FABULOUS for card making also.

The word MOM uses the lower case, July Stamp of the Month, Circus Alphabet. this stamp set is available July 1st. Wait till you see how beautiful the Capital letters are in this set.

My card today is a Father's day card that I had my club make last month. I used the stamp Set called "You're The Best." This is a fabulous stamp set for any masculine card. I stamped on Colonial White Cardstock with Chocolate Ink and sponged the edges with Desert Sand ink.

The card below is using the same stamp set but I made it into a Birthday card using a retired set called "Card Chatter-Birthday and A RETIRED Stamp of the month called "Wild About Love".

Now hop on over to Cindy's Blog for more fabulous artwork!

Ariana Bendy Fold Card

Here is one of the three cards I designed for my May Hostess Club. I used a combination of Close to my Heart stamps and Ariana paper pack, the cricut Artiste cartridge, dies and punches. The stamp set was a Hostess Only set form the Fall/Winter catalog.

This card is called a Bendy Fold card and is the easiest card in the world to make in spite of how advanced  it looks.  The tabs on the bendy fold parts actually come out of the slots and the card folds flat for sending.

The card is a standard size card,  and mails in a regular A2 envelope. However, if you want to make your embellishments to extend past the top and sides of the card, it can be mailed in a 5"x7" envelope.

The base of the card is cut 5.5 x 4.25. Cut two of these. The first one is for the base of your card. The second one is cut into two strips which can be any width to fit into your design. Mine were cut at 2.75 x 1.5.

Score  the short end of each of the strips at 1/2" then turn and score the other short ends at 1/4". On the 1/4" sides, you will cut your tabs just to the 1/4" mark.  Bend at the 1/2" marks and add redline or score tape to the 1/2" portion. Adhere the bigger strip to the left side and the skinnier one to the right side of your base card.

I decorated my base card with pieces of Ariana paper cut slightly smaller then the base pieces. I adhered them to the base before cutting the slits.

My slits were cut with an Exacto knife at 4" on the base from the fold on the left. The other slit is cut into the wider flab, 2" from the fold on the left.  However, you can make these slits at other measurements, such as, if you want sharper bends. There are so many variations of this card.
